Golden Hex European Food Market

A market closer to me was closed, so I called ahead to see if this place had what I was looking for. The woman who answered the phone looked up the item and confirmed it was available, so I made the 40-minute drive to get it. The market is huge, with foods from all over. I liked that every price tag also had the flag of the country that the item came from on it. I easily found the thing I wanted and then wandered around the store for a while just looking at everything. When I left the cashier was also friendly. I would gladly come back!

We have been shopping at Golden Hex for about four years and really appreciate their selection of Ukrainian products. We regularly buy buckwheat, Lviv coffee, Kyiv cake, Roshen sweets, Kuyalnik mineral water, and other foods that remind us of home. They also have delicious sausages, Polish cheeses, and a wide variety of European products. The store is conveniently located, well stocked, and we truly enjoy shopping here. However, as Ukrainians, we would really appreciate seeing fewer Russian products and an even larger selection of Ukrainian brands instead. It would also be wonderful to see more Ukrainian souvenirs, traditional figurines, home décor, gifts, and other items that celebrate Ukrainian culture. Overall, we love Golden Hex and are grateful to have a local place where we can find so many familiar Ukrainian products.

I stopped by for lunch on a weekday. I have Russian speaking friends and they had pointed me towards this store. They offer a wide selection of Ukrainian and eastern European foods. They also have a cafeteria-style area where you can purchase hot cooked food, as well as cold salads, that you can eat for lunch. I ate lunch there, the eastern European food was delicious. The service is helpful, speaking both English and Russian, and the prices are moderate.

This store offers eclectic foods that I cannot get at other ethnic stores. They have Russian, Bulgarian, Ukranian foods. They have a good supply of cheeses, like; Drunkenn Goat, Holland Dutch Gouda, and Cranberry Jack. They also have a variety of Pierogies, berrs, Porters, all kinds of condimetns, olives, pickles, and Avjar. Avjar is a sauce of red preppers and/of eggplant and we use it for spaghetti sauce in lieu of tomato sauce. This is a clean and interesting place to shop. They also have all kinds of cakes and desserts made on-site.

A great store with friendly, pleasant salespeople. Large selection of European products. Several shelves with a great selection of tea. The dumplings ( пельмени) look absolutely wonderful and taste delicious. We bought several types of pastila and everything was fresh and very tasty. Farmer cheese (творог), cheese, sausage, drinks, sweets. Everything you can think of. It's hard to stop yourself from buying everything. An amazing variety of frozen berries. They even have gooseberries, lingonberries, and sea buckthorn. I'll definitely be back here to buy gifts for my friends for New Year’s gifts. I'm sure they'll love the candies and the beautifully packaged tea.
